History of Coopers Ruritan
Coopers Ruritan was started in 1952 with 34 members (all farmers). These thirty-four farmers helped get telephone lines extended over the Coopers Community, help build the teacherage at Coopers Elementary School, they helped start our community Coopers Fire and Rescue.
Today we continue what was started in 1952. Coopers Ruritan is dedicated to improving our community and building a better America through fellowship, goodwill, and continued community service. Helping others is our priority, whether its Coopers Elementary School, Sandy Cross Methodist Church, Coopers Fire and Rescue, Nash County Parks and Recreation (Miracle Park, 4H, Sew Club, workshops, a family in need, individual organizations, or institutions in the community, to make our Coopers community an ideal place to live.
